About Us
Search Strategies is Australia’s only company dedicated to Search Marketing Seminars, Search Marketing Conferences, Search Marketing Education & Search Marketing Workshops.
About Search Strategies
Search Strategies was born out of the fact that there was no decent search marketing events for people wanting to educate themselves on search, this has been a soap box issue of mine for a many years now and in fact it was at Google’s 3rd Birthday party in 2006 that a few of my industry colleagues told me to stop ranting on all the time about it and do something about it, the result of that evening was Search Engine Bootcamp and Search Summit.
It is important to note that Search Strategies DO NOT sell search engine marketing or optimisation services, don’t expect to come to an event run by us & be sold services these types of services by us at a later date.

Search Summit 2007 - THE National Search Marketing Conference
Search Summit 2007 was based on my previous bad experiences with search conferences and out of the desire to have a National Conference that embraced the local Australian Search industry as well as having an event where experienced online marketers could come and learn from local and international industry experts.
Search Summit is now known as Search Marketing Expo Sydney - SMX Sydney.
Redding, CT USA and Sydney, Australia (PR Web) August 20, 2007 - The Search Marketing Expo - SMX conference series has added Sydney, Australia to its 2008 schedule.
SMX Sydney will be the new name for Australia’s leading search marketing show, Search Summit, as the result of an agreement reached by SMX-producer Third Door Media and Sydney based Search Strategies.
“We’re privileged to have a partner who shares our vision of providing conference delegates with outstanding educational and networking experiences,” said Third Door Media President Chris Elwell. “Satisfied and qualified delegates are the key ingredients for creating a vibrant marketplace, and SMX Sydney will benefit from momentum Barry Smyth and his team created with Search Summit events,” Elwell added.
“Search Summit was about making sure that Australian search practitioners had an educationally focused event. The vision that Third Door Media has for the Search Marketing Expo - SMX brand is tightly aligned with my philosophy on what makes a superior search marketing event,” said Search Strategies Director Barry Smyth.
“The Third Door Media content team of Danny Sullivan and Chris Sherman will provide invaluable support to SMX Sydney events,” Smyth added.
